In 1837 Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel created the first kindergarten. He became the 'father of Kindergarten'. He believed that children unfold their uniqueness through play. Froebel was the first educator to develop a planned systematic program for educating young children. He used 'Gifts' in the form of objects to help teach children about society works. Today every kindergarten in America still uses some of Froebel's methods.
